Being rather a bookworm, I’m usually to be found immersed in some English book or the other. But I have never managed to find time for Tamil literature, largely on account of me having a rudimentary knowledge of the Tamil language.
Where do buses come in to all this, you ask? Well, buses in Chennai usually have a couplet from Thirukurral (Tamil: திருக்குறள்), one of the most important works in Tamil language, put up in the them – a sticker on the dashboard or elsewhere. A great way to learn literature, one couplet, one trip at a time.
