A taste of India_ Part 3 (Amritsar)

This post covers Amritsar….the beautifully pure buildings of the Golden temple, where both the people and the place truly reflect the power of faith….

……Jallianwala Bagh, the site of the 1919 massacre that ignited India’s struggle for freedom that is currently a public garden and memorial…

and lastly..the Wagah border..the landcrossing between India & Pakistan….where the retreat  march of the border security force is a sight to see….

By no means are these photographs exclusive. Many more places remain to be seen and experienced like the bazaars and streets near the Golden temple – a treasure trove of all things ethnic and modern..the roadside dhaabas that serve the best rotis in all the world…the never ending paddy fields that you pass by on the highways stretching to infinity……that sometimes makes you think that the journey is the destination in itself….
